Autora comes from one of the most remote mezcal producing regions of Oaxaca - the Sierra Sur. The air is cool, the altitude high, and the water pure and abundant. In these mountains, the mezcaleros have tended their fires and agave alongside family for generations.

Every bottle of Autora Mezcal represents a single maestro mezcalero's work - their style of production, the agaves they select, and the water, earth, microbes, and altitude of their region. We don't blend between producers - offering a true representation of place.
Matias never had his name on a bottle sold outside of Mexico - here you can see the moment he saw it for the first time.
